Perks of Traveling in the Fall

There are plenty of ways to revamp your typical vacation but traveling in the Fall could be just the change you need! Here are some perks to choosing the months between the peak travel season!

First of all, let’s talk about dates and rates. After Labor Day, there is a lot more flexibility in terms of booking. Several condo properties allow for partial week stays and alternative reservations. Plus, costs for your stay are typically much lower during this time. In fact, the rates during the weeks following Labor Day fall to the lowest of the season!

Traveling during this time will also make for a quieter vacation as typical tourists clear out. You’ll find everything to be less crowded. This includes shopping centers, restaurants, and even beaches! You’ll have the sandy shore practically to yourself—along with the same perfect, Carolina weather!

However, the fun activities don’t slow all the way down. October is host to a multitude of enjoyable activities for visitors, locals, and families! October 8-24th is the 2020 Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art. This annual festival allows you to enjoy the Wine & Food Gala as you listen to various live performances! Also, in October, the 2020 Little River ShrimpFest is taking place on the 10th-11th. It is a family-friendly event with vendors, arts and crafts, live music, and of course, seafood! Check out the St. John’s Greek Festival, Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, Loris Bog-Off festival, and many more!

As we move further into November, the 2020 Myrtle Beach Fall Classic will be taking place November 15th-19th. This tournament is open to everyone and specifically caters to those whose golf season has already ended! Entry to the tournament includes four rounds of golf on Myrtle Beach’s best courses, a welcome reception, a watch party, and even an awards banquet!

Other outdoor activities include fishing and camping! The Grand Strand piers offer equipment if you don’t feel like bringing yours down and the weather during this time of year works perfectly for pitching a tent!

Side note, if you’re a total Halloween fanatic, Myrtle Beach has some spooky activities to enjoy! To learn more about our local South Carolina ghost stories, check out a ghost walk with Ghosts & Legends at Barefoot landing or the Conway Ghost Walk in historic Conway! These native tales are a great way to dig deeper into the Carolinas’ pasts.

Come visit this Fall for an unforgettable trip to the Grand Strand.
